Letter #2 from MTC

William's e mail this week was much shorter and he didn't really answer any of our questions we've been sending him....but I LOVED the letter so much anyway!

It started out without a hi or a dear it just said-- "So i am really afraid of the Scripture Judges 12:5-6. I'm afraid that is going to happen to me."

When I read that I had to go look it up and it is pretty scary!!!

He didn't say anything more about the scripture and went on to say that he is getting stronger, growing, and is helped by the Spirit.

He said he misses his friends, but really likes all the friends he is making there.  One of his old SVU roommate's, Elder Terry,  is there at the MTC now and he lives on the same floor in the residence hall.  He is going to the Phillipeans.  Elder Terry has a companion who is a "dwarf" like the family in the show, "Little People, Big World".   William's little French group is the only French speaking district in their building, so everyone calls them "Frenchies".  He also sees his old best friend from Chico there at the MTC every day, Elder Chelson.  Elder Chelson's district has a nick name for William---they call him "Neil Diamond"...haha, I guess it sounds like Wil Guymon.  I'm surprised that 19 year olds have ever even heard of Neil Diamond, he was one of my dad's favorites, back in the day.  He says it is a such a happy moment when he sees someone there he knows because there are thousands of people he doesn't know.

For gym time, William and his companion play beach volleyball.  He says that they "tear it up" and that they beat the team who has been playing volleyball for 9 weeks and who are about to leave for Lyon, France.
He says that all the French missionaries who were there before his group are leaving to go to France on Monday, so his district will be the most senior French speaking group.

He and his companion were able to get their "investigator" to commit to baptism, but then he changed his mind and said "no".  William is convinced that if he knew French better he could have done a better job keeping him.  He also said that one day, that investigator couldn't make their lesson so he sent a friend, Daphne.  William and Elder Munns thought she had speech problems and couldn't tell what she was saying, even though she was speaking French.  At one point William asked her where she was from and she said "Montreal", she was speaking French Canadian and it sounded, according to William, "super gross".  His next statement was "French is such a pretty language, I bet God speaks it."
The rest of the letter was him telling me to get everyone to write to him and send him pictures.  He loves it there at the MTC but he misses SVU and home a lot.

He hates shaving every day, it gives him a permanent neck razor burn.

He thinks that Thomas S. Monson is coming to the MTC to train the new mission presidents and to speak to the missionaries, he's so excited about that.

In closing he told Bradley to read a scripture, told Bradley not to wear his pants, wondered what it would be like to wear and see people wearing regular clothes again, and then asked me to tell everyone to write to him.

So, write to him....and send him photographs!!!!

Thanks!!!!!
