Jan 28

hey dad so actually it has been 8 months... (Scott had told him in our e mail that he's been out 9 months already.)

That's crazy that krispy kreme is back!!! yeehoo!! (We are getting a Krispy Kreme doughnut place back in Chico.)

So we didn't do anything crazy weird this week. We taught a lot of lessons and saw some cool things, but no weird stories.
I went on exchanges with Elder Fl***** this week. That was cool.

OUR HOT WATER GOT FIXED!! on Friday, so that was almost 3 weeks without hot water.

On Tuesday we had zone training and the lesson was on the fruits of the spirit, so they threw fruits to us, like papayas and kiwis and mangos.. I thought it was pretty funny how many people didn't catch them.

We went to institute and watched a talk by Utchdorf called "What is Truth". It was really good and it was really relevant for here. There are so many people who don't understand truth. I am so glad that I was raised in the church, and that I have a testimony of God and his plan. It gives me a lot of joy, and also a purpose.

We also helped a man move a piano and a fireplace upstairs. It reminded me of when I used to work at Sorenson's Moving Company!

It also snowed this week.

We have a new amie named al******* and she came to church for the first time and the man who had been teaching her with us came up to her was like "hey, what's your name?" and shes like "umm al******" and then he got super embarrassed and then invited her over for dinner. They may or may not be in love....

This week went by super fast.

sorry for the short email

shortest e mail yet

hey guys! so this week was super crazy!!

So on Wednesday I had to drive a mission car from a city called Le Mans to the chapel in St. Merri (the heart of Paris, a couple blocks from Notre Dame.) Let's just say driving in downtown Paris is OUTTA CONTROL!!! especially across the Champs Elysées, but we made it alive and without crashing (barely) and then we were at mission conference. At mission conference we learned the new theme for the year.  We were also told that it was really good in é2012.  The France Paris mission had the most baptisms ever in 2012.

We still dont have hot water, so i just go brute and take cold showers instead of waiting to heat up water on the stove.

One thing that Elder B******* and I decided to do was just whenever prez (or God) promises blessings for doing something, we just do it everytime. NIKE! and we have already started seeing blessings. We found 3 new legit amis this week. woohooo!

In a letter that i got this week you asked if I was gaining weight. I am, but not fat. I'm growing out of my scrawny teenager body and into my man body. My shoulders and arms and ribs are growing.

Bradley and Andrew are on the same soccer team? no way.

So this week some punks stopped us on the street and asked me if I'm god. i said, "No, but I'm american". Then they were so excited and thought I was so cool and they asked me if I know 50 cent. I lied and told them, "yes". and then they asked if i know Tyga ( rapper) and i said, "Woods?" and then they just thought I was an idiot and walked away.

Jan 14th

This transfer I am going to be stayin in Angers with Elder B*****s and this transfer is only going to be 5 weeks long (instead of 6).

So we still dont have hot water and we are still taking sponge baths, but our heaters magically and randomlly started working in the middle of the night last night.

Last night I stepped off a curb and stumbled a little bit and really messed up my lower back. This morning I had like a half dream/half vision that Elder P****r came back to France to give me a hug and while he was giving me a hug I woke up and my back was fine. It was really awesomely weird. haha.

This week our ZL's decided that everyone in our whole zone was going to get 2 new amis this week. We have not really been finding new people and for some reason this week was harder than ever to talk to people. It seemed like people were very closed off and I was getting really anxious to get 2 new amis. Towards the end of the week I realized that I didnt come on a mission just to fill stats, I came to serve with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength. We ended up only finding 1, but I know that the Lord was pleased with how hard we tried this week.

There is a man that we found last week who keeps schmeeeegaling around the church. He came to church the week before and this week he was creepin around outside and i saw him through through the window and I beckoned him in. When I asked him why he came back he said that he had a really bad week and he felt really good when he came to church last week and he loved seeing happy people. He said the only happy people he saw that whole week where the people in our church. I'm so glad that he came back, everyone in the ward loves him now.

And another ami that we have is a boxer, I dont know if I'm allowed to box him or not but I want to.

I have to use ATM machines because there are no Bank of Americas in France.

Elder Fl****n is going to be the ZL and in my district, so I'm going to be able to see him some more.

Jan 7th

hey!

I dont remember if told you... but a couple weeks ago all of the farmers around here got peeved off and drove their tractors into town and put cow poo up and down the roads and then drove their tractors around all day. It was really awesome and not. They put piles of poo on the tram track so the tram couldn't go anywhere.

So, this week there has not been that much news here. The ward here is changing a lot. They're thinking of changing the time and order of the meetings. This whole last Sunday was mostly about the ward mission plan.  It is good that they are doing so much missionary work. We have been working hard and doing a lot of porting and weve been finding some new amis. So that's good.

Our apartment's water broke... the water heater doesn't heat up the water... which means that the heaters dont work.(and also we dont have hot water) so I feel like a real missionary now, because this morning I heated up water on the stove and then took a sponge bath and weve been chased by a few dogs.

(We asked him about his finances.)Those hats that we bought where our Christmas presents and Elder B******s paid me back. I took some other money out because we ran out of food and money for food and I also ran out of toothpaste, deoderant and shampoo on the same day and last month we had 5 pdays so we had to fit in 5 shopping trips on the same bugdet when we usually only have 4 per month.

It's weird how much Bradley and Andrew are growing up, but I think I'm growing up too. That's cool that they did the polar bear swim.

I hope the grass grows. (We told him we planted more front lawn seed.)Was the movie The Hobbit good?

Have they traded Demarcus Cousins yet?

Yes, we were talking about white chocolate (He said that he and his companion like the basketball player Jason Williams, there are a lot of Jason William's so I asked him if it was the White Chocolate Jason Williams in my last letter.). ELBOW PASS FTWWWW and we also like Baron Davis.

So french people HATE root beer. They think it tastes like postage stamps. So a guy in my ward gave us some because his dad sent him some becuase his dad thought he liked it because he served his mission in the states. but he doent like it. or his wife.  (I'm pretty sure he's telling us that the wife doesnt like rootbeer either, not that they guy doesnt like rootbeer or his wife.)
